Human Diaries is proud to present CJ “Mitch” Mitchell, an up and coming star from Norristown, Pennsylvania. CJ Mitchell, known as Mitch, is unlike any other R&B hip hop singer you have ever seen. He is a special young man. He is quite gifted, and has a way with music. He is steadily rising to fame through his community and rapidly growing his fan base. We at Human Diaries had the pleasure of speaking to him and getting the inside scoop of what later turned out to be a special interview, as we learned more about the obstacles he faced in his rise to fame. With a strong bond with his family and fans, Mitch is an incredible young man who unleashes the crowd once on stage! His motto we asked? His response was: I pride myself on work ethics and becoming better every day. To learn more about Mitch’s life, we decided to interview his mom who turned out to be his biggest fan. Mitch’s mother is very supportive and was able to tell us more about him as a child and as a man.
From his mother: The story of CJ, aka “Mitch”, starts long before he knew how to sing a note. He was born almost 3 months premature and his lungs were not developed. He did not come home from the hospital for another 2 months because he had to have his lungs synthetically developed. I remember waking up from an emergency C-Section only to see his picture posted to my bed rail. He was so small and had nothing but machines and wires on him. I wasn’t sure he was going to make it. He was in and out of the hospital for the first 2 years of his life. As he got a little older, he was on nebulizers and 2 different types of inhalers. I can recall him being on a little league baseball team and throwing the ball with much difficulty. Time went on, and with the Grace of God, his lungs got stronger, and his treatments were fewer and far between. He made a full recovery as he reached adulthood. He started singing at a very young age, and his vocals got stronger and more beautiful by the day. Not only has God blessed him with a beautiful voice, making music his passion, but he has also blessed him with phenomenal writing skills. Mitch writes his own lyrics on every song he has produced. He worked and continues to work so hard at his craft. He writes from his soul, and sings with passion, and he is a very humble young man… We have been truly blessed…..
He is truly a talented young man. He not only writes interesting lyrics, but his smooth and sexy voice more than delivers! Make sure to read his interview, then check out his video and download his latest song from iTunes – it is well worth your time and attention.
Q: Hi Mitch. Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
A: I am a young R&B, hip hop artist, born and raised in Norristown, PA by my mother and grandmother. I’ve been writing lyrics since the age of 8 which is also the age I began singing. I’ve built my fan base off of social media, and doing different shows throughout my local area. I pride myself on work ethic and becoming better every day, and I am now looking to advance my career to higher heights.
Q: How long have you been in the Music industry, and what inspired you to do it? Do you enjoy it?
A: I started taking music seriously when I was around 13 years old. I used to listen to Usher’s album “1807”, day in and day out, just because I liked trying to sound like him. It wasn’t too long after that where I figured to myself that “I can sing”. I started off writing and recording in one of my close friend’s basement. After a series of songs being recorded, I decided to re-record one of the higher potential songs at a more professional studio. Once I recorded there, the producer allowed me to be a part of his indie label, where I would finally begin doing shows and my first music video.
Q: Are you satisfied with what you have accomplished thus far?
A: I have a split opinion with being satisfied. I’m satisfied because of how far I came since I first started. There was a time I was reaching out to more established, popular local artists, and they would just blow me off, and now I am that “more established” artist people come to. As a performer, when you have people memorizing your music, and supporting you, whether it’s financially or just being at my show, it humbles me; makes me feel like I’m not working for nothing. Then there’s always that moment I feel unsatisfied, because there’s a bigger platform out there that I’m not on yet. I want to be bigger, better, and I’m still just an ordinary talented kid. I can’t be satisfied until I can put my mom in a house.
Q: What plans do you have for the future?
A: I plan on becoming a famous figure. I plan on making great music and fulfilling my dream. I want to live the life I dream about every night.
I plan on doing things nobody from Norristown has ever done or seen.
Q: Have you been in any shows yet? Where else have you been featured?
A: I’ve performed all over. In the past 2 years I have done over 50 shows. I have performed in Brooklyn and Queens, NY. I have also performed almost everywhere in Philadelphia, including Penn’s Landing. I’ve opened for Ryan Leslie, Juicy J, and the legend himself Ginuwine.
Q: Any humorous stories you want to share with our readers?
A: In high school someone told me if they heard “CJ Mitchell ” became famous, no matter how many years later, they would come back to our school and jump off it. I want to see if he’ll follow through with his word. lol
Q: What do you think of Human Diaries?
A: Human Diaries is a phenomenal website. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to tell my story.
Q: Any last words for our readers?
A: You can download my song on iTunes, and view and share my video on YouTube. I also have a Twitter account if you want the latest information.
You’ve come along way in such a short period of your life. You have accomplished much, but with humility. Keep that, and you will go far young man. I’m an old woman not Ito HipHop, but you have a beautiful voice.. Expand it in different areas and see where it will lead you.
Keep the pride within you, you deserve it but don’t let the world change you on your way. Many Bkessings

Cheers to “Mitch” and all that he has accomplished so far! The entertainment industry is far from easy, yet true talent will shine through. Best of luck to him. I know some day he will get that house for his Mom. I’m sure she is super proud of him!
