How to make delicious crescent rolls

I have to say, I don’t think I’ve had crescent rolls that I haven’t liked, but these are so easy and tasty, I just had to share!

2 (1/4 ounce) packages active dry yeast
3/4 cup lukewarm water
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon table salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter, softened
Melted butter

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Dissolve yeast in the lukewarm water. Let sit for about 10 minutes, until bubbly.

Add the sugar, salt, eggs, ½ cup butter, and 1 cup of flour. Mix together well, and then add another cup of flour. Mix well, and keep beating until smooth. Keep adding flour until it has all been mixed in, and the batter is smooth.

Knead the dough, then cover it and place in a warm place to rise. Once it has doubled in size, about 90 minutes), punch it down. Divide the dough in half. Roll each half into a circle, about 12 inches.
Spread the remaining ¼ cup of butter onto the dough circles. Slice each circle into wedges. Take each wedge and roll, starting from the wider edge. Place each roll, point side down, on a greased baking sheet.

Cover, and let rise again until double in size (approximately one hour).

Bake until golden brown (about 12-15 minutes). Brush the tops of each roll with butter when they come out of the oven.
