Human Diaries is very pleased to share the story of Adrian Grajeda, an impressive young man who has shown more optimism and resilience than most people. It’s difficult enough for an adult to endure hardship and tough times, but it’s quite another thing for a child. What makes a huge difference is having a powerful spirit and positive attitude, which can help someone overcome any obstacle that he or she will face in life. That’s something Adrian Grajeda has – he is a rare individual who has faced a huge challenge with a can-do attitude and smile on his face, accepting life and its mysteries. Despite an unfortunate and life altering accident that required surgery and blood transfusions, caused a bone infection, and also caused him to lose part of a leg at the tender age of ten, Adrian seems to focus on the positive things that occur in his life. He puts his energy into the sports that he loves so much, especially soccer. Adrian is a true ray of sunshine and positivity that brightens everything around him. He tells life that he’s bigger and better, and nothing will keep him from accomplishing his goals. It’s not surprising that he’s been quoted as saying, “Everything is possible, there’s not one thing you can’t do!”
We did some online research about this brave soul who caught our attention. One absolutely amazing thing we learned was that Adrian actually pushed someone else out of harm’s way as a vehicle crashed through a fence, very likely saving her life while changing his. Words that come to mind are bravery, strength, courage, and persistence. Some people think of Superman or Batman when they hear the word ‘heroic’, but we at Human Diaries think of Adrian Grajeda. He saved someone’s life based on instinct, and that’s what a hero does. We were very excited to have the chance to ask Adrian Grajeda some questions and share the answers with our Human Diaries community.
