It is our mission here at Human Diaries to find special people; those who give and never ask for anything in return, those who care and never wait on others to care back, those who sacrifice so much in order for others to succeed and reach new heights! We have had so many wonderful stories in the past but Lily topped them all; not only because she is loving, caring and genuine, but she also uses her natural gifts to help and give to those who need a helping hand. I’ve been there and done that she says with a smile!
Lily Ivor, a woman who has triumphed over abuse from earlier in her life, is using her talents to help others to do the same. In her words, she wants to be a source of encouragement to others. She stated, “regardless of what horror you have experienced in life it is possible to overcome and live out your dreams”. She said that, in her experience, people tend to want to help others but don’t always know what to do. She’s working on establishing a girl’s ranch for helping endangered runaways, whose lives are often in jeopardy.
In addition to having a big heart, she is a singer, she wrote an autobiography, she is certified in Braille, she has designed a toddler sized doll, and has a children’s clothing brand.
Q: Hi Lily! Tell us a little bit about yourself.
A: I am a singer and multi-talented artist. I love the performing arts. I have an act with an orchestra. I am called a “throwback” in the entertainment business because I love the glamour of the Golden Age. I do all the stagecraft for my shows. I study the pigmentation of the eyes, skin and hair before I design the wardrobe for myself and my orchestra. The glamor effect comes from the tones and lighting that I use in the design of the stagecraft.
COUNTRY ALIVE™ (music campaign): I am currently working on the final song list for my debut album with Steve W. Mauldin, ATG Records – big band flavor, out 2016. We plan to launch my Country Alive™ world tour with my orchestra February 4, 2017. And, I am busy designing and constructing the wardrobe for the shows and art-wear for fans.
Q: Who or what inspires you?
A: My garden is an extension to my designer atelier. I am a watercolor fine artist. I get the inspiration for the color and design of my wardrobe from botanical pigments. And more often from visions and dreams of which I have a personal collection.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Anything creative. I “fancy” the simple life (literally). I love to create beauty.
Q: We’re interested in your organization and how you help others. You must take pride in what you do, as reflected in your involvement in your arts foundation. Can you fill our readers in on this organization, in your own words?
A: I use my artistic talents and platform as a professional singer to bring awareness to endangered runaways. I found The Lily Ivor Arts Foundation to help youth and teens in crisis. I do not ask for charity. I am a serial entrepreneur. I create profit centers related to my work as an entertainer to benefit my cause and fund the foundation.
“Loreen” is a fun example of what I do to create profit to fund my arts foundation. I had a custom life size toddler doll made for me and I named her “Loreen.” I market the doll to Buyers with my size 3T Ready To Wear doll/children’s clothing brand SOTRE™ and a fashion primer children’s book. So cute.
Q: Do you have any funny or interesting stories you’d like to share?
A: I started to have day visions (awake) and night dreams (sleep) of clothing in 2009. There are never people in the clothing and the visions and dreams are in color. I can examine the garments closely. Once I had a day vision (awake) of so many beautiful hats that I could not sketch them fast enough. I am writing a book titled “The Image Maker” to share my experience as a performing artist with my fans. This is another brainy idea I have to fund my arts foundation.
Q: What do you think of Human Diaries?
A: I am very impressed with the kindness and courtesy expressed toward me and your readership. I think people are precious and I love the idea of sharing people’s life stories. I am humbled to be one to share my story. Thank you.
